  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The Blues were awarded a spot-kick just past the hour mark in a Premier League home date with the Toffees. Golden Boot hopeful Cole Palmer had already registered a hat-trick by that stage, leading Stamford Bridge colleagues to believe that they would be allowed to step up from 12 yards.

  Madueke and Jackson initially led the race to inherit penalty-taking duties, with the pair racing to wrestle the match ball away from colleague Malo Gusto. A heated exchange then broke out, doing little to quieten the accusations of Chelsea having assembled an expensive group of individuals – rather than a united team.
